Dianne Lynnette Aguirre, Fine Artist

Dianne L. Aguirre is a Reno, Nevada artist who discovered murals in 1984 while seeking larger canvases.

From 1990 to 1997, she owned Aguirre Fine Art in Portland, Oregon, creating 39 paintings and 32 murals for homes, premier hotels, restaurants, malls, and businesses across Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Alaska, and California. She frequently collaborated with interior designers on these projects.

In 1997, she relocated to Reno and opened Aguirre Art, producing about 30 paintings and 70 murals for homes, casinos, hotels, restaurants, schools, churches, parks, and fitness centers in the Reno-Sparks-Carson City area. Notable examples include interiors in ArrowCreek, Caughlin Ranch, Double Diamond, Galena, and Montreux; public exteriors at Silverlake Park in Stead and Tengo Un Sueno Preschool on Warren Way; and murals for Monte Vigna Ristorante at the Atlantis Casino and Romanza Ristorante at the Peppermill Casino.

She works in acrylic, colored pencil, mixed media, oil, pen & ink, pencil, and watercolor. Her subjects include garden scenes, landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, angelic visitations, and vineyards.

She earned ribbons at the Nevada State Fair (1987: 1st, 2nd, Honorable Mention; 2000-2001: two 2nd, one 3rd, Honorable Mention) and awards like Best of Show and People's Choice at Artown events.

She participated in Artown, Starving Artist Sale, and community projects. In 2003, she served as Vice President of the Nevada Artists Association (NAA), and in 2004, she served as President.

In 2008, an accident resulted in chronic pain and multiple surgeries, including three in the spine, two knee replacements, wrist surgeries, and jaw reconstruction. Studio work slowed from 2008 to 2023, limited to occasional commissions. She continued through the challenges and returned to full production in 2024.

Recent exhibitions include the 2025 Square Foot Show in Palisade, Colorado; Artown shows at The Shoppe at Hillcrest in Reno; Fantastical Places and Creatures at Makers Paradise Gallery in Reno; and the 2024 Moon and Sixpence Theater show in Modesto, California—her first in years.

Today, she specializes in stylized realism, focusing on vineyard paintings from U.S. wine regions, available as originals and prints.
